i saw the vinyl going for crazy prices on ebay…

Got mine from soundstagedirect.com, on sale at the time for $25 which was a no-brainer. Normal price right now is $34, not too, too bad, but would make me think twice.

Re: What’s EveryOne Listening To in Other Bands & Artists

Become a huge fan of Uncle Acid! Downloaded it from AMazon on a whim, something about the album cover. Now have it on vinyl. Already pre-ordered the new EP and LP.
Also listening to Ghost (or Ghost B.C. as they are now known as in the US.), and tons of Thin Lizzy especially Bad Reputation and Black Rose albums.

Death Angel - Frolic in the Park and The Ultra Violence. They finally became available for download! For the longest time you could only get used copies the out-of-print CDs for an absurd price. Classic late 90s Bay-Area Thrash!

Re: Songs that sound like Therapy? in General Therapy? Topics

The verses of Free Drug Zone from Seaweed sounds very influenced by Nausea, except the chord progression ends on the third chord and the bass line isn’t as prominent as Nausea,

Re: Pearl Jam in Other Bands & Artists

They had PJ20 on a PBS (public Broadcasting station) not sure if that’s a bad sign…usually all they play is stuff from old 60s groups that still tour.

…it was cool to watch even though my DVR ran out of space with 10 mins to go. Enjoyed the old footage. Cool to watch Eddie in the rafters.

Re: Memorable Andy Quotes in General Therapy? Topics

The best I saw was actually a fan to Andy and having to watch him recover…from the HA tour FabChannel Show (Paradiso) - When introducing Straight Life he goes into a bit about the song being about consumerism and buying too much stuff, and quotes Chuck Pahlinuik “Things you own, end up owning you” …and a fan said “Like your albums” Andy turned red faced laughed and said “Yes, thank you for buying our albums…” and pretty much said “shit… you got me”
Great “Gotcha” moment. Martin and Mikehell even laughed.

Re: What’s EveryOne Listening To in Other Bands & Artists

Got Strung Out’s - Element of SOnic Defiance on vinyl. Great album (EP really but it is 9 songs long). This is where they morphed from skate punk to quasi-thrash. Complex arrangments, and ripping guitars friven along by one of the best drummers going now, and excellent singing..all the while keeping the hooks coming.

This live version of Savant is killer - taken from their Live in a DIve album. ALso on it is the best cover of Bark at the Moon.

Re: Record Store Day 2011 in Other Bands & Artists

So bitter I missed it again! Actually didn;t miss last year, but all the really cool stuff was gone by the time I got there. What Ozzy Albums were re-released?
I just got the Pearl Jam Vs/Vitology Uber-set…well worth it..high quality as usual and a great live double disk included, but pricey. Need tires so may be another month or so before I can splurge on any more vinyl.
But I do have some Amazon bucks coming from my credit card, was planning on getting the slayer box set.
