Picked up Jon Ronson’s ‘The Psychopath Test’ oat the airport for a holiday read but didn’t get much chance to read it whilst away - got more into it on the way home and finished it instead of gettting some sleep, then had to go straight into work… but its really funny, a bit scary, very readable and highly recommended to anyone that liked ‘The Men Who Stare At Goats’
I read that on holiday last year, really enjoyed it. I’ve just bought ‘Them’ by Ron Ronson off Kindle for 98p

Currently reading ‘Wasting Police Time’ by PC David Copperfield - its basically just a bunch of blog posts collected for a book, it still makes quite interesting reading.

I read Them when it came out & really loved his style - he’s very self-effacing which works well when looking at the absurdity of others. Need to finish William Gibson’s ‘Distrust that Particualr Falvour next, which is also a collection (mainly magazine articles he’s written).

I’m reading Malone Dies by Samuel Beckett at the mo. Highly recommended for any hardcore Therapy? fans… I’ve already spotted a few references from it that are in the last couple of Therapy? albums. You can definitely see Beckett’s influence on the lyrics of Crooked Timber and ABCOL. It is pretty hard going though. Molloy, his first novel in the trilogy, wasn’t so tough.

Any suggestions for holiday reading? At the moment I’ve got the new Terry Pratchett, The Brave by Nicholas Evans & The White Spider by Heinrich Harrer - could do with something pop-sciencey or similar to go with them & Richard Dawkins hasn’t got a new one out as far as I’m aware…

I’ll need to look out for that book. I take it it’s about Jamie Stevenson? I’ve read a lot of the Paul Ferris and Arthur Thompson ones. If you’re liking The Iceman, I recommend getting those next. There’s a few of them. The Ferris Conspiracy, Deadly Divisions, Vendetta and Villains are all good reads.

Yeah, Iceman is Jamie. I read some other book where they would take the kids on holiday to spain and fill the bus with drugs for the journey home.

It was indeed called The Ponderosa! :D Arthur Snr’s house was at one end of the block, and Arthur Jr’s was at the other end. The rumour is that both houses were connected by a tunnel running under the 3 or 4 houses in between them!
It’s less than 2 miles from where I live.
