Exclusive Therapy? Interview - What questions do you want to ask the band?

#

Started by exclusive

Hi Everyone

Let me be brief and see if I get any response on here. Basically we are doing an exclusive interview with Andy and the boys in the next week and after following this message board for a while we have decided to include you if you want to be included. Basically we have questions that we want to ask but I am sure that there are some really good personal questions brewing in your minds and for that reason I would like you to let me know what they are and we will do our best to include as many of the best and most interesting ones that we can in the interview and then post the full interview link on here for you all to read and comment on.

We are really excited and hope that we can use this opportunity as best as we can to find out more about the guys we listen to and feel we know so well.

Shoot with questions on here and try make them specific and really give it some thought.

Looking forward to what you have to say…

Aside from the money, do you miss the fame and media/public attention that came with the Troublegum era of your careers? Are you happier now pleasing yourselves by making albums you want to make rather than pandering for what other people want?

i wanted to ask if there would ever be a chance of playing with fyfe again as he is my all time favourite drummer and I feel their sound has distinctly lacked since his departure… even just a once off gig in belfast.

On recent gigs you’ve played every track from the new album was this a consious decision or did it just happen?

I do agree i love the song, its just i have heard it too many times… live i always look forward to something new or something i haven’t heard before but still have a smile on my face when the “hits” get played. Troublegum is an album i play the least of their stuff just because it was such an album at the time and one i hold in such regard.. but also when i do decide to play it really cheers me up because its so good. I have the same thing with “milo goes to collage” i leave it for ages but then when i put it on i’m hooked again.

How about…

… even though there would probably be an audience for Troublegum II, you’ve said you’d never write such an album as that would be an artisitally empty thing to do, however, you continue to play a lot of Troublegum tunes live because of (and I think the band have confirmed this in the past) audience expectations, at the expense of recent-but-not-brand-new albums such as NANE and OCFA on the Crooked Timber tour - aren’t these two views contradictory?

Also…

As a band 12 albums in, realistically how long do you think it can continue?

And…

Any plans for 20th anniversary celebrations as the WoMbles are hoping you do something really special.

Good one!

And also, Andy has said several times that he’s proud of Suicide Pact - You First, and that it’s one of the best things they have ever done.
Then why is it that the complete album is being ignored live (apart from “Sister” in 2006)?

I think this is such a valid point - it’s only the die hard fans that are left now in reality without media support and I know I’m not alone in saying I’d like to hear far more off of every album (yes, even shameless).

I’d also like more info about whats planned for the big 20th birthday bash

My question:

You’ve used a good range of styles on your albums so far… have you ever considered making a long, “epic” album using all the different styles you’ve used in the past?

Course, the trick would be to get it all to flow and sound like a cohesive album.
