Liverpool gig tonight

#

Started by radadj

Hello all,

a WoM lurker here, just wishing to share my excitement about the Liverpool Tpy?/Wildhearts gig tonight - woohoo! No matter how many times I see Therapy? play live (not sure of the exact number but I’m definitely in double figures) I still get schoolgirlishly excited before a gig - which I don’t get with most other bands.

Anyhoo, is anyone else from here going tonight?

Cool, might see you in the pub then, although we may just head straight to the venue depending on the time. I’m guessing we’ll be getting there at about 7.30 - don’t suppose you’ve checked stage times with the venue have you?

gig report:

they have been better, but they still ruled. pointed out all Neil’s mistakes to him in the pub afterwards, but i’ve always done that, heh. mosh pit got a bit mad towards the end. i can pin that down to one person. she was stupid.

rada is awesome. i am almost ready to start a rada fan club.

You were exceedingly drunk by the time I caught up with you in the pub afterwards so I’m guessing your judgement was a little clouded ;) (but thankyou anyway!)

Woke up this morning with a headache - was going to sue Neil for his dangerous drumstick throwing but he did apologise nicely so I’ll let him off this time :D

Yes, Therapy? ruled as always, not the best gig of their’s I’ve seen (nothing can come close to the Belfast gig last year), but the main downside was the short set due to it being a support slot…other than that, fantastic as ever!

How good was that,

Okay i admit it may not have been the best some of you have seen

but it’s been a long while since i’ve seen them last

i went slightly crazy when i heard Teethgrinder and J.J. is fucking my sister,

And whilst the Wildhearts rock like no other, i think their newer songs have lost some of that unique quality they always had

ok thats my 2p’s worth

Not very good at remembering setlists myself (too busy bouncing around like a fool) but I recall the following being played at some point during their set:

Nowhere
Teethgrinder
Panic (a new one - damn good it is too!)
Rust
If It Kills Me
Stop It You’re Killing Me
Die Laughing
Potato Junkie
Screamager
Isolation

I know that I’ve forgotten some, and they’re not in the right order, and there was a cool instrumental jamming bit at some point, but that’s about as much as I can manage to remember (memory loss from being hit by a drumstick perhaps? :P )

Drummers can be dangerous when they decide to present their sticks to the audience.

I did see a Slipknot fan get one of their big alluminium sticks in the face at gig on the green. It was really thick and was meant to be used for the oil drum type kit that was obviously only mic’d up about once every 5 songs despite an idiot pretending to play it almost continually.

it was painful to watch (The actual Slipknot set i mean) but we had one of my mates little brothers with us at his first gig. We did get to feel proud of him at the end of the night when he declared The Prodigy and NOFX as best bands of the day despite being a massive Slipknot fan. Pretty good gig for his first ever, even if someone did puke on him from the top of the big wheel 30 mins into the day.

Neil can be nice if he wants to… ;) At St. Peterburg he personally walked to front-row and GAVE a stick to my girlfriend. That is the nicest thing drummer can ever possibly do, cheers Neil!!!! :D

That is exactly how I got a drumstick at Preston last year. Fantastic bloke, not seen the nasty side of him yet though!! :D

I got one of Neil’s when he they landed right next to me, but I had to wrestle it out of some speccy geek’s hands in a tug-of-war. It was quite an alpha-male expercience. Rawr!!!

Hmmm…I suppose I’ll forgive you since I probably would’ve done the same ;)

Neil did apologise profusely when I shouted at him in the pub afterwards (poor chap :D) and he seems to be the kind of guy who would never knowingly hurt anyone, which is why I forgive him too…but I am expecting a stick handed personally to me next time!

Anyway, the imprint in my head kinda goes with my Therapy? tattoo somehow…I’ve got a set of Therapy? body modifications now :D

T? were fantastic that night, but the crowd weren’t up to much. Swear to god I could have hung my coat up n the barrier at the front, and it would have still been there at the end of the gig.
That was when there was only two microphones set up on stage, my thoughts were then shit this doesn’t look good, and with the MVD single only having 3 signatures on it!!
