Putting it back together

Posted on December 10, 2000 in Maintenance

Last month we have been very busy in our spare time to put the engine back together. I received lots of help from 'Handy Harry', a man with a lot of technical knowledge. Also thanks to my brother, who pretended to give us a helping hand as well ;-)

Cilinder heads have been revised and changed to handle unleaded fuel. This will save me about 25 cents per liter. We have replaced the hydraulic valve lifters and one exhaust manifold, which was broken. With the engine compartment very empty, I have given it some fresh black paint, while also painting most of the engine (Ford) blue.

The best part is that it started and kept running smoothly, right after putting it back together today! I must say I'm very happy with the end result, especially when thinking of were we started. Note: mileage counter is at 56.772.
